The Top 10 U.S States most in need of Spanish English interpreters

  

The United States has over 56 million Hispanic residents. This makes up approximately 17.6% of the national population. About 40 years ago, the Hispanic population was only 14.8 million people in the country. As you can see, there has been a significant shift in Hispanic immigration throughout those years. 

 

There has never been a greater demand for Spanish to English interpreters than right now. 2) Texas 

 

Texas is the second most populated state. It has over 10.5 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 27.5 million people. That is also about 38.8% of its total population. Texas is another state that demands Spanish to English interpreters because it has a strong Hispanic immigrant population.  

 

3) Florida 

 

Florida is the Sunshine State. It has about 5 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 20.3 million people. That is about 24.5% of its total population. The strong Cuban population attributes to the growing Spanish speaking population in the southern region of the state.  

 

4) New York 

 

New York is a very diverse state. It has over 3.7 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 20 million people. That is about 18.8% of its total population. There is much easier access to interpreters in New York because many of them live in the city.  

 

5) Illinois 

 

Illinois has over 2.2 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 13 million people. That is about 16.9% of its total population. A significant portion of the Hispanic population is found in Chicago. Many certified interpreters live there too.  

 

6) Arizona 

 

Arizona has over 2.1 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 6.9 million people. That is about 30.7% of its total population, which means one-third of the state is Hispanic. Again, its proximity to the U.S. southern border is why the growing Hispanic population in the state.  

 

7) New Jersey 

 

New Jersey has over 1.77 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 9 million people. That is about 19.7% of its total population. You’ll find Hispanic residents living everywhere, from Jersey City to Newark.  

 

8) Colorado 

 

Colorado has over 1.2 million Hispanic residents out of a total population of 5.5 million people. That is about 21.4% of its total population.  

 

9) New Mexico 

 

New Mexico has over one million Hispanic residents out of a total population of two million people. That is about 48.1% of its total population, which means Hispanic residents make up half the state.  

 

10) Georgia 

 

Georgia has over 950,000 Hispanic residents out of a total population of 10.3 million people. That is about 9.3% of its total population.  

 

Demand for Translation Services in NYC Schools is Rising

The demand for translation services in NYC is about to start rising. At least, this will be the case if the New York City Department of Education (DOE) makes good on a recent promise to provide better interpretation and translation services to NYC schools. 

 

Earlier this year, a lawsuit brought forward by Legal Services NYC, claimed that the DOE was failing to provide adequate interpretation and translation services to the parents of children in New York schools. Thankfully, this is now changing.
